Senior Buyer, Non Product Commercial Spend

A fantastic opportunity is available for a Senior Buyer, Non Product Spend Commercial to join our Supply team in Parsippany, NJ.
 
Summary
  • Coordinate and lead negotiations.
  •  Representative of the Procurement function within the production site for NPSC (Non Product Spend Commercial).  
  • Support and challenge the business to achieve cost savings by decreasing the demand and/or reducing costs. 
  • Enhance competition by leveraging spend and seeking out new suppliers that create incremental value. 
  • Develop contracts that are commercially sound and provide optimum protection of company assets.
  
Scope / Dimensions of Role
The role covers all Indirect Commercial Spend for Health and Hygiene Home North America Business Units. 

 

Key relationships – Internal:

  • RB Regional Procurement Team
  • Marketing, Sales, HR, IS, legal and others

  • NPS team across different regions

    Responsibilities / Accountabilities
  • Within the scope of the overall site, responsible for leading and implementing purchasing initiated projects:
    • Execute tenders and negotiations.
    • Optimize the supply base and develop sustainable supplier relationships with key suppliers.
    • Manage the business review process with key suppliers to ensure that market trends, supplier performance and the future business needs of the sectors are aligned.
    • Support and challenge the business users to improve specifications, reduce consumption and consolidate spend.
    • Re-scope contracts by interacting with cross-functional teams to bring in efficiencies
    • Internal & external benchmarks to identify & drive synergy & cost savings opportunities.
    • Use e-tools like reverse auction (Ariba) to negotiate with suppliers.
    • Contract management – negotiate the RB standard contract with suppliers with minimum deviation from the standard template & align the contract internally with legal & finance.
    • Generate savings and NWC benefits.
  • Support Global NPS Procurement on synergy projects & have regular meetings with them to update the project status.
  • Report NPS C savings on a monthly basis by updating the global “NPS Tracker” 
  • Work closely with user functions to track performance of key suppliers & work on improvement programme to improve the performance of suppliers.  
  • Service: Ensures factory will receive good support from procurement community in case of Service Issues. In case of major service issue for the site, her/his attendance to the meetings and calls will be required. The goal of NPS Buyer is to ensure clear and fast execution of the defined action plan to solve Service Issues affecting her/his site 
  • Compliance: Ensure all suppliers comply with the regulatory requirements in the country & drive improvement programme for suppliers who do not comply & ensure 100% compliance

  • Stretch targets on cost reductions and working capital improvements. 
  • Right level of aggressiveness and autonomy to challenge internal stakeholders and suppliers. 
  • Leverage synergies across the different RB sites in North America.
Professional Qualifications / Experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience of Procurement. NPS/Indirect buying experience is a must. 
  • Degree qualified preferably in Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Business or other relevant discipline. MBA advantageous.  
  • Ability to work in a truly global organisation. Proven experience working in a fast moving, results driven environment. High level negotiation, influencing and communication skills. 
  • Sound knowledge & quick adaptability to e-tools.
