An exciting opportunity is available for an R&D Associate to join the Pain and Respiratory Extensions team. Based in Hull, the position will provide a unique opportunity to work in a team spanning multiple Health power brands; Nurofen, Mucinex & Strepsils.

 

As an R&D Associate in the Pain & Respiratory Extensions team you’ll be a part of a team responsible for the technical feasibility and enabling of new initiatives whilst also enhancing our technology platform capability - Building internal RB capability and leveraging partner networks to unlock new technology solutions for our brands and drive innovation projects from day 1 in feasibility all the way through to transition into dedicated brand delivery teams, or potentially directly to launch.

 

The role would be ideal for an agile candidate who has experience of product development, preferably in health, who is looking for the opportunity to drive future innovations.

 
The role involves:
 
  • Working on early phase NPD projects to support the pipelines, either via hands on formulation development or delivering through a network of 3rd party partners
  • Owning and expanding our technical capability and partner networks across key technology platforms and collaborating with the Innovation teams to identify new partners where required
  • Collaborating with the broader cross functional RB teams (medical, regulatory, supply etc) to ensure project plans are robust and focused on delivery of the intended end consumer need and solution
  • Using your R&D technical background you will work closely with the full cross functional team to identify, scope and size new business opportunities
  • Leading reviews of competitor activity to help define future projects and combat threats.
 
 
Is this You?
 
  • Degree, MSc or PhD in chemistry, medical chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences or similar relevant discipline
  • Experience in Healthcare or Pharmaceutical R&D and new product development
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and create clarity for decision making
  • Creative and open attitude with a focus on delivering actions and results
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to influence key stakeholders
  • Proactive self-starter who is delivery and action focused, with a creative mindset and not afraid to challenge the status quo
