A fantastic opportunity is available for a Procurement Manager – Raw Materials in our Procurement team.

 
 

The role has overall responsibility for the strategic sourcing and cost optimization of Organic Polymers in an Area/Global and support/projects for global Enzymes, TAED and Complexing and Sequestering.

 

This role is to implement and continually improve Procurement strategies, tools and techniques in order to maximise the company’s results such as top and bottom line growth and net working capital reduction. 

 

The role will work in partnership with a highly successful and dynamic business and shape the Procurement strategy of a group of raw materials with close involvement with the Supply function, Research & Development, Finance and Marketing.

 

SCOPE / DIMENSIONS OF ROLE

 
  • Directly responsible for a group of raw materials sourced in the Region. Working on a cross functional basis with the Supply Org., R&D, Marketing and Finance.
  • Will be entitled to present and decide or get approval (depending on spend) for Procurement strategies and contracting terms.
  • Keep track of regulatory implications in the Region, understand the impact to RB business
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of a supplier base that can generate competitive advantage in the Region despite cultural and geographical differences.
  • Cost, quality & service and net working capital improvement are the most important business needs with different focus and prioritisation in the region.
  • Preparing and recommending assumptions of material costs for budgeting process.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES

 
  • Designs and recommends or decides (depending on spend) the strategy, sourcing and contracting of raw material groups in order to achieve adequate supplier base that will generate competitive advantage for the operations across the world while fitting to Regional needs.
  • Continuously improving supplier performance including the service and quality.
  • Identify risks and opportunities involved in each sourcing process. Drive the organisation to mitigate identified risks using state of the art techniques. Push the organisation to move towards opportunities by adopting creative solutions.
  • Provide contingency plans to ensure continuity of supply of his/her portfolio of materials.
  • Responsible for Quality and Service from managed suppliers. Drive Quality and Service improvement strategies.
  • Responsible to meet Procurement budget assumptions for the materials under his/her responsibilities.
  • Coaches and leads the direct reports in developing strategies that will be in line with Company’s strategy while fitting to regional needs.
  • Closely follow commodity feedstock information and develops an in-depth understanding of market dynamics to proactively take actions on timing and extension of sourcing process and contracts.
  • Work closely with the Regional and Factory Supply organisations in understanding needs, objectives and priorities to improve cost, service and quality of materials.
  • Design, verify and amend Global contracts in conjunction with Legal Dept.
  • Work closely with other Procurement Managers and global Director in order to coordinate globally strategies and tactics
 
 

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

  • Experience of Procurement. Chemistry experience desirable.
  • Degree qualified preferably in Engineering, Chemistry, Manufacturing, Finance, Business or other relevant discipline.
  • High level of negotiation, influencing and communication skills. 
  • In line with RB core values, will be achievement focussed and able to work in a direct and often pressurised environment.
  • Adaptability to work in a global business environment
  • Flexible to travel, if required.
  • Entrepreneurial skills in terms of innovation and problem solving are key along with tenacity and ability to influence and demonstrate strong commitment and team working abilities.
