A fantastic opportunity is available for an experienced pharmacovigilance professional to join our Safety, Quality, Regulatory & Compliance team, based in Hull or Slough.

 
The Global Consumer Safety and Vigilance Department is a key function within RB, assuring the safety of all innovative and marketed products, driving safety by design and monitoring the safety of the users of our products worldwide. Vigilance is essential to guarantee the ongoing understanding of the profile of adverse events and the benefit/risk profiles related to the use of Reckitt Benckiser medicines, medical devices and personal care products (e.g. cosmetics) and vitamins, minerals and supplements (VMS).
 
This is a dual role covering the Global Principal Drug Safety Officer (DSO) and the UK/Ireland Local DSO responsibilities. You will provide global DSO oversight and governance, especially in relation to DSO performance levels, metrics and corrective practice, develop a DSO Training Academy, and DSO Local Medical Support Model to establish and ensure global gold standard case management at point of contact.
 
There will be functional management of DSOs to build a strong global DSO community and provide line management of the DSOs in countries or regions where appropriate. You will also cover the requirements of the UK/Ireland Drug Safety Officer to ensure that the local National Business Units (NBU) are co-ordinated with all internal and external vigilance regulations, ensuring that regulation changes are implemented internally and externally.
 
 
Is this You?
  •  Qualified to at least 1st degree level or equivalent, in an appropriate health science  (e.g. medicine, pharmacy, nursing) or related discipline, you’ll have a solid grounding within pharmacovigilance – experience of medical device and/or cosmetovigilance is desirable;
  • A continuous improvement mindset, enabling you to constantly look for ways to improve electronic data capture systems, and the ability to look at database use from a user standpoint;
  • You’ll have a global mindset, with a commercial understanding of corporate and operational business issues, but also an appreciation of the local market setting;
  • Previous experience of running and participating in National Regulatory Body Inspection, coupled with a full understanding and working knowledge of international regulations relating to all areas of vigilance;
  • Demonstrable experience in team leadership, people management and experience of leading global team is important, as is a systematic approach and attention to detail and an ability to work in challenging environments.
