An exciting and diverse opportunity is available for Materials Manager to join our Planning team on our Nottingham site.
 
Reporting directly into the UK Head of Planning and Logistics, this is a stimulating role that will provide the opportunity to work within a dynamic and fluid environment.

The main focus of this role is to drive improvement in materials planning, managing strategic projects and forecasting. Reviewing methods of orders, capital projects and the supply chain. This is an autonomous and key role on our Nottingham site and will link in with planning, production, the site leadership team.
 
 
  • Set out the materials strategy and policy for all Raw and Packed materials on site.
  • Analyse, document and improve Materials Planning processes.
  • Use Root Cause Analysis to investigate stock outs and implement improvements and preventative measures.
  • Work with the planning team on forecast for key strategic / important materials for the site
  • Track and review supplier delivery performance by KPI’s and Supplier Review Meetings.
  • Work with suppliers to increase delivery frequency and/or drive down minimum order quantities.
  • Visit suppliers as necessary to discuss issues / forge relationships.
  • Budget management
  • Work with Procurement and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Work with Logistics to define the storage strategy for materials.

  • Educated to a high standard with previous experience in an FMCG, Pharmaceutical or Retail environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to develop strong relationships and influence with a perceived level of gravitas
  • A driven and proactive individual, with a tenacious approach to getting the job done.
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel and a detailed understanding planning processes.
  • Detailed knowledge of MRP processes and systems (SAP)
  • You'll demonstrate strong problem-solving skills through your ability to manage multiple activities and respond to changing priorities.
