About the role
 
This is a hands-on technical position in which the associate is expected to complete preventive maintenance and perform equipment repairs and installations.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan for, establish, and perform preventative and predictive maintenance according to the schedule.
  • Work in a team environment, support production equipment and personnel as needed in a safe and efficient manner. 
  • Must provide excellent customer service to all internal customers.
  • Responsible for the ordering of parts, procurement of quotes for equipment, and production modifications within prescribed budgets.
  • Continually plan, develop and complete equipment improvement projects focused on equipment capacity, quality and cost improvements.
  • Complete root cause analysis, in line with down time procedure to Identify and implement preventative solutions.
  • Support successful implementation of planned maintenance and new projects.
  • Support escalation process for line stoppages or breakdowns in excess of 15 mins or two consecutive hours of below target OEE.
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance in respect of safety, cGMP and quality systems

Principal Accountabilities

  • Responsible for correction and prevention of downtime on production and support equipment used to manufacture and package nutritional products.
  • The Associate is expected to perform these tasks with minimal guidance and supervision on days, evenings and weekend shifts as needed.
  • Expected to improve the design and function of the production equipment, participate in the selection of new equipment, be completely cross-trained in all areas of production other than the area they work in and have advanced fabrication, troubleshooting, and process knowledge.
  • Inspects department facilities and equipment and reports damage to Manager, Maintenance and Facilities to ensure all equipment is in good operating condition.
  • Analyses, recommends, and implements safety improvements to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Expected
  •  Strong electrical, pneumatic, and machine tool operation skills.
  • Must have a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair sophisticated electrical controls and mechanical systems.
  • Must have good communication skills (English) and the ability to interact well with other departments in a team environment.
  • Must have good computer skills (Microsoft Office, MS Windows)
  • Must be an excellent troubleshooter and understand both the equipment function and the production process associated with the equipment.
  • Must be physically able to bend and twist. 
  • Must be capable of lifting 55 pounds.

  • Awareness of quality/Good Manufacturing Practice and experience of a KPI focussed environment
