Logistic Manager

Our mission in logistics is “to deliver the right product, to the right customer, at the right time, in the right condition at the right cost.” An opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic, customer focused Logistics team dedicated to delivering this mission.

 

The scope of this role is operationally focused centralising and benchmarking performance on main KPI and assuring sharing and implementation of best practices related to picking, storage and cost control. With broader view on all activities this role should identify and present opportunities for simplification/cost reduction maximising service and, when approved, assure proper execution including project management, budget control and roll out

 
The role is Logistics Manager EU/ANZ which focuses on:
  • Service and KPI’s
  • Area Regional/Global 3pl management – cost tracking, benchmark, optimise.
  • Project Manager for the new WMS and LMS Implementation in Italy & Spain and possible Global Roll Out if needed.
  • Manage with external consultants and regions/countries efficiency projects within network optimisation in Distribution and Warehousing.
  • Review Options of central logistics for slow movers across the Area.
  • Logistics manager in the HUB assuring compliance with Op Model
Responsibilities:
  • To deliver on targets in the following key areas:
  • Customer service – assuring efficiencies in the network still assuring commitments to our customers on lead times and quality.
  • Assure freight costs are included in any studies to ensure overall cost reduction.
  • Project management – assure all tasks are correctly identified and proper follow up is done as also full budget control.
  • Management of 3rd party business development plans for Global Providers
  • Work with external teams from our 3pls and RB regional teams to overcome challenges and facilitate a can do mentality
  • Ownership of issue and risk management
  • Lead and drive a number of key projects that facilitate improvements in warehousing and both freight in and freight out around the Area.
  • Proactively drive process improvement initiatives by challenging accepted principles and focusing on adding value to the business.
  • Ability to source, interpret and analyse data for business decision making
  • Ability to work with 3rd parties including providers and consultants.
  • Proactively sets, communicates and executes objectives, contributing to the Supply Services’ Team objectives
Key Challenges:
  • Managing Global RB’s 3PL to consistently overdeliver to RB’s KPIs and always ensuring overall overdelivery to budget
  • Survey and benchmark competitive marketplace practices to insure Reckitt Benckiser Logistics is responding to marketplace demands effectively and efficiently
  • Support the business imperative of ‘speed to market’
  • Deliver effective complex projects on time and with no business interruption.
  • Actively support the objectives of the Supply Organisation within your Area.

What are we looking for?
  • Degree qualified preferably in Logistics, Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance or related area together with 5+ years’ experience in Logistics / Transport management preferably in FMCG/Retail
  • Large experience in managing 3PLs in complex markets
  • 2year plus with budgetary responsibility – Can demonstrate sound financial acumen
  • Good people management and motivation skills
  • Good planning and processing skills
  • Sound Knowledge of European Initiatives in Supply Chain Arena
  • Leadership skills
  • Analytical skills
  • Logistics Strategy Development
  • Customer Service Management
  • Stock Management & Logistics
  • PC skills essential for Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook
  • Other database relevant – JD Edwards
  • Overall WMS & LMS systems architecture.
  • A willingness to challenge generally accepted norms and the conceptual flexibility to find better answers
  • An appreciation of the total business picture
  • Strong team working across functional teams
  • Accurate, thorough & disciplined
  • Well organised and able to meet agreed deadlines
