A fantastic opportunity is available for a Portfolio Management Associate to join our Research & Development team.

  • Ownership of the end-to-end resource & budget planning and embed Portfolio Management across the CDO
  • Visibility and senior stakeholder interaction across the CDO, influencing how CDO operates and makes decisions about the overall pipeline & portfolio
 
Key Areas of Responsibility:            
  • Support Category Portfolio Manager in oversight of assigned category portfolio, ensuring continuous support for growing the business and strengthening the base & on-going management of priorities
  • Identify and implement opportunities for improved efficiency across project spend / resource
  • Effective budget management and preparation/analysis of KPI’s

Responsibilities: 

  • To support the Category Portfolio Manager in planning/prioritisation process for an assigned category portfolio end to end:
  • Implement systems and processes to support planning and prioritisation across Power Brands and Local Heroes within assigned category across CDO (Cat R&D, (H) M&E, GMDX)
  • Lead specific brands within category & own relationship with project teams
  • Support rationalization of pipeline between CDO and Area/IMEx to ensure maximizing resource value
  • Manage relationships & communication with project teams to advise on changes to resource based on business strategy
  • Act as a reference point for Portfolio Management queries and an advocate for best practice and best use of portfolio management disciplines 
  • To provide planning support for assigned category:
  • Assist in forecasting and planning for category budget
  • Support the Portfolio Management function in ensuring documentation, financials, benefits, reporting and plans are relevant, accurate and complete for the portfolio
  • Track and report on project portfolio performance, providing a real-time, comprehensive, and prioritised view of all projects
  • Responsible for the production and accuracy of materials to support executive reporting cycles (dashboards, KPI reports etc.)

Education & Experience:

  • Good quality degree, ideally of a relevant, Scientific nature
  • Broad experience in the CDO, preferably with an understanding of a number of functions/rotations (R&D, Marketing, Finance etc.)
  • Experience in project management with complex, cross-functional teams
  • Experience with budget management an advantage
  • Qualification within project management expertise (PMO certified or Six Sigma) an advantage but not mandatory

Personal Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Confident in interacting with, and influencing senior management (Cat. Marketing & R&D)
  • Results oriented, entrepreneurial and self-motivated. Bias for action, capacity to define, evaluate and takes risks. Strong analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Capable of building strong working relationships and motivating business teams to deliver outstanding results
  • Attention to detail and strong numerical and organizational skills.  However also having the ability to see/explain beyond the detail of the numbers (‘able to see the bigger picture’)
  • Commercial ‘savvy’ – good understanding of corporate and operational business issues, strong understanding of the RB Operating Model and the CDO vision/strategy
  • Understanding of marketing strategy and planning issues; experience with budget management and resource allocation an advantage
  • Ability to turn solid thinking into action (a thinker and an achiever)
  • Openness to change
