RB's Recruitment Privacy and Retention Policy

The RB Group of companies (“Reckitt Benckiser”) respects the privacy of every individual who visits our sites or responds to our interactive advertisements and other communications. This Privacy Statement outlines the information RB will collect and how we will use that information. This Privacy Statement will also instruct you on what to do if you do not want your personal information collected or shared when you apply for a job with RB, visit RB sites or respond to our advertisements and other communications. 
 
We may modify this Privacy Statement and you should therefore periodically visit our Careers page to be sure that you have read the most current Privacy Statement.
 
Personally Identifiable Information
 
Personally identifiable information about yourself that you provide to RB in the context of applying for a position with RB  (the “Applicant Data”) will be used for recruitment purposes and the Applicant Data will be protected in accordance with this Privacy Statement and any applicable laws. The Applicant Data will be used to create profiles (“Applicant Profiles”) to enable us to consider you for any suitable positions that become available in the future. All Applicant Profiles will automatically be placed in RB’s global talent pool, which means you may be considered for roles in other countries where RB operates from.
 
 By submitting your Applicant Data, you confirm and agree that you consent to the following:
 
1.     You have read and understood RB’s Terms and Conditions and this Privacy Statement and;
 
2.     RB, its sub-contractors or agents may process your Applicant Data according to the terms and conditions set out in this Privacy Statement; and
3.   The information you provide here may be shared for recruitment purposes with one or more of RB companies throughout the world, each of which is an independent legal entity and is acting as data controller.  This means that the information you provide here may be accessible by RB companies outside of the country in which you are located.  In some cases, the local laws regarding data protection will not necessarily be as strong as they are in the country in which you are located. However, RB will ensure that if information is transferred outside your country of residence it will still be treated in accordance with this Privacy Statement
 
Please do not include any personal information in your CV or other materials that you submit to RB that you do not wish to be used for these purposes. 
 
It is RB’s policy to retain your information for a period of 6 Month's from the date on which you accept this statement. You will be asked to accept this statement every time you login to your account.  This means that your data will be stored for 6 Month's from the date on which you last login to your account.  If you would like to update your details or if you do not wish for your information to be retained by RB during this time, you may amend or deactivate your account at any time.
 
 
 
 
 
Processing of Applicant Data
 
RB will observe the following principles when processing Applicant Data:
 
1.     Applicant Data will be processed in compliance with applicable laws.
 
2.     Applicant Data will be collected for specified, legitimate human resources purposes and processed in ways compatible with those purposes.  Human resources purposes includeIdentifying and/or evaluating candidates for RB positions; making a decision about whether the individual should be hired; maintaining appropriate record-keeping related to hiring practices; analysing the hiring process and outcomes; and conducting background investigations, where permitted by law.
 
3.     Applicant Data will not be excessive for the purposes for which it is collected and used.
 
4.     Applicant Data will be accurate and, where necessary, kept up-to-date.  Reasonable steps will be taken to rectify or delete Applicant Data that is inaccurate or incomplete. 
 
5.     Applicant Data will be kept only as long as is necessary for the purpose of assessing your suitability for a role within RB, and by default will be retained in the Global Talent Pool for a period of 2 years from the date at which the Applicant uploads the data and accepts this Privacy Statement.
 
6.     Applicant Data will be processed in accordance with the individual’s legal rights (as described in this Privacy Statement or as provided by applicable laws). 
 
7.     Appropriate technical, physical, and organizational measures will be taken and maintained to prevent unauthorized access, unlawful processing, and unauthorized or accidental loss, destruction, or damage to Applicant Data.
 
8.     Applicant Data will be accessed and processed only by individuals who are involved in the hiring process for applicants and who have a legitimate need to access and process Applicant Data for human resources purposes.
 
 
Further Collection of Data
 
RB may periodically collect further information with your consent or in accordance with applicable laws.  For example, RB may require additional information to perform background checks or obtain approvals which may be a condition to employment.  In addition, RB may collect your feedback and opinions (e.g. surveys) for business purposes, such as improving processes.  You may respond to these surveys voluntarily or may elect not to respond and will not suffer reprisals for your decision not to participate in such surveys.  The terms of this Privacy Statement will be applicable to any further information collected including any responses to such surveys. 
 
 
Sensitive Data
 
To the extent RB needs to collect any Sensitive Data (such as data or other information regarding racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or political beliefs, trade-union membership, health or medical records, or criminal records, where permitted by law), RB will ensure that you are informed of such collection and processing.  Where required by law, your consent to the processing and particularly to the transfer of such data will be obtained.  Appropriate security and protection measures (e.g., physical security devices, encryption, and access restrictions) will be provided depending on the nature of these categories of data and the risks associated with the intended uses.
 
Please do not include any sensitive personal information in your CV or other materials that you submit to RB that you do not consent to RB processing. 
 
 
Access Rights of Applicants
 
Any applicant may inquire as to the nature of the Applicant Data stored or processed about him or her by RB.  You will be provided with access to Applicant Data to the extent and for the reasons permitted under applicable law.  All such requests for access may be made by sending a request in writing to:

A self-addressed envelope should be sent with the request in order to send the required data.  Applicant Data will be available for as long as it is processed by RB.
 
 
If access is denied, the reason for the denial will be communicated and a written record will be made of the request and reason for denial.
 
 
If any Applicant Data is inaccurate or incomplete, you may amend your information by editing your profile or submitting a new resume/CV online with the updated information (e.g., new home address or change of name).
  
Should you wish to withdraw your consent, you must deactivate your candidate profile and/or application on our system.
 
Transfers to Third Parties
 
At times, RB may be required to transfer Applicant Data to selected external third parties that have been contracted to perform certain employment-related or government compliance services on their behalf.  These third parties will process the data in accordance with RB’s instructions or make decisions regarding the data as part of the delivery of their services.  In either instance, RB will select reliable suppliers who undertake, by contract or other legally binding and permissible means, to put in place appropriate security measures to ensure an adequate level of protection.  Such selected third parties will have access to Applicant Data solely for the purposes of performing the services specified in their applicable service contract with RB. 
 
 
RB may be required to disclose certain Applicant Data  to other third parties, including but not limited to governmental authorities (1) as a  matter of law (e.g., to tax and social security authorities); (2) to protect RB’s legal rights; (3) in an emergency where the health or security of an Applicant or Applicant Data is endangered; or, (4) for any  other purpose required by applicable laws.
 
Objection to Processing or Withdrawal of Consent
 
In addition to any rights and obligations that are set forth above, or that otherwise exist, Applicants may object to the processing of their Applicant Data.
 
Any Applicant is free to exercise their right to subsequently withdraw their consent to RB processing their data, by deactivating their profile at any time. Should you decide you no longer wish for your details to be held in the Global Talent Pool, please deactivate your account.   Once your account is deactivated, all Applicant Data will be permanently deleted.
 
 
Non-Personally Identifiable Information Collected Automatically
 
In some cases, we may collect information about you that is not personally identifiable. Examples of this type of information include the type of Internet Browser you are using, the type of computer operating system you are using, and the domain name of the site from which you linked to our site or advertisement. We use this information for the purposes of better understanding our customers’ interests and to help improve our business and sites.
 
Information We May Place Automatically On Your Computer's Hard Drive
 
When you view one of our sites or advertisements, we may store some information on your computer. For example, this information may be in the form of a "Cookie" or similar file that will enable you to continue with a previously saved application. With most Internet Browsers, you can erase Cookies from your computer hard drive, block all Cookies, or receive a warning before a Cookie is stored.
